Julia Whitescarver, Devoted Mother, Gifted Artist and Author
Julia (Julie) Whitescarver 89, passed away Tuesday, February 17th at her Kinnelon NJ home with her family by her side. Julie was born July 2nd, 1925 in Newark NJ to Charles and Julia Muller. She was raised in East Orange NJ along with 6 siblings, graduating from Arts High School in Newark. In the final years of WWII she worked as a draftsman at ITT.
Julie is preceded in death by Franklin, her devoted husband of 63 years. They lived in their Kinnelon home since 1959. She is survived by her children, William, James, Robert, and John; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Known locally for her prolific artistic passion, Julie loved to gift her paintings to all that she met. Landscapes of the hills and lakes of Northern New Jersey, portraits, historical buildings, and scenes of social gathering fill the walls of her home, many other homes, and local art exhibits. As an author and poet, Julia would write about her worldly travels and religious journey.
Final arrangements are private. A memorial service is planned for the springtime.
